BROADCAST

TROY TrojanVision is Troy University’s television station that provides news, educational, entertainment and sports programming. TROY’s broadcast journalism students produce three live 30-minute news programs every class day of the academic year.

I have been involved in TrojanVision News for four semesters as both an anchor and reporter. I started out anchoring for the midday show. For the past four months, I have been the anchor for the Global newscast every Tuesday. In the summer of 2017 I began anchoring the nightly newscast. I am also responsible for producing the show as well as anchoring. As a reporter I gather stories in the field and edit them in a timely manner for them to air on the nightly newscast.

TROY TrojanVision News

I am thankful to attend a college that gives hands on learning opportunities. Through working with TROY TrojanVision News I have learned skills such as anchoring, reporting, editing, and producing.

Broadcast journalism can be a challenging field to obtain a job in after graduating college. Thankfully, I attend a university that provides me with hands on learning experience so I can produce a demo reel.

I sat down with Aaron Taylor and asked him what advice he would give to broadcast journalists searching for their first job. To find out some tips, watch my interview with him.
